An actress on the hit TV show “Yellowstone” has been charged with two felonies after she allegedly collected nearly $97,000 in workers’ compensation even though she could still work. Kilcher, 32, of North Hollywood, was charged with two felony counts of workers’ compensation insurance. According to a statement from the California Department of Insurance.
Kilcher reportedly first injured his neck and right shoulder while filming Dora and the Lost City of Gold in October 2018. She reportedly told a doctor a year ago that when she was offered the job, the pain in her neck was very severe. Then she limited accepting job offers by starting to receive temporary total disability benefits. But investigators from the California Department of Insurance determined she was healthy enough to work at “Yellowstone” the following year. At the time she admitted she was disabled, according to a report released Monday by the department.
Meanwhile, Kilcher worked in Yellowstone from July 2019 to October 2019. That work was completed just five days before Kilcher began collecting benefits, according to the department. The doctor later said she could not approve the payments if he knew her recent work history, the department said. Kilcher’s attorney denied any wrongdoing. They said she also regularly informs her casework at the Divison of Workers’ Compensation. Her attorney appeared in court Monday and her next scheduled court date is Aug. 7, officials said.
