The 2022 Golden Globes were awarded last night. This year, Marvel Studios’ first original Disney Plus series WandaVision was nominated in two major categories: One for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film (Elizabeth Olsen), and another for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film (Paul Bettany).
WandaVision marked a lot of firsts for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the show is still generating a tremendous amount of hype by the fandom close to a year following its release. Ahead of its first anniversary this week, fans were hopeful that the 9-episode series will score its first major trophy after both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were nominated at the Golden Globes.

Unfortunately for fans, the series ended up getting shut out at the Golden Globes. Both the actors lost in their respective categories, with Elizabeth Olsen losing to Kate Winslet for her performance in the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown and Paul Bettany losing to Michael Keaton for his performance in the Hulu miniseries Dopesick Michael Keaton (Dopesick).
This didn’t sit well with a lot of fans who are convinced that Bettany and most especially Olsen were robbed at the ceremony. Taking to Twitter, fans expressed their dismay over the Golden Globe snub and some of them are under the impression that WandaVision got snubbed for being a superhero project. They are incredibly angry, to say the least. Check out some of the reactions below:
WandaVision supporters have become accustomed to seeing the series snubbed by Hollywood’s awards bodies, with Kathryn Hahn’s turn as Agatha Harkness becoming a particularly sore point of contention. After being robbed at the Emmys despite going in as the heavy favorite, the actress didn’t even land a nomination at the Golden Globes, which was deemed as a huge oversight.
Although it has been confirmed that WandaVision will only be a limited series but there is some sort of consolation for Olsen fans as the Scarlet Witch’s story will still continue in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and if the latest MCU rumors are to be believed, it looks like Wanda Maximoff will be a force to be reckoned with in the multiverse.
All nine episodes of WandaVision are available for streaming exclusively on Disney+.
