Tom Holland Net Worth

Holland was born in Kingston upon Thames, London, England on June 1, 1996. His mother, Nicola Holland, is a photographer, and his father, Dominic Holland, is an author and comedian. Holland is the middle kid of a family of four, with three younger brothers.

Holland did his schooling from Roman Catholic preparatory school Donhead, in Wimbledon, and Wimbledon College, before he went to The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. He originally started dancing in a hip hop lesson at Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon. 

Holland was discovered by choreographer Lynne Page, an associate of “Billy Elliot the Musical” creator Peter Darling while performing with his dance school at the 2006 Richmond Dance Festival.

Career

After giving about Eight auditions and two years of hardcore training, Holland eventually made his West End debut on June 28, 2008, in “Billy Elliot the Musical” as Billy’s best friend Michael. Holland received much positive feedback for his first performance in the role of Billy which was on September 8, 2008.

Holland made his television debut in 2009 with the ITV1 show “The Feel Good Factor”. He, along with four other performers who played Billy Elliot, met Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 10 Downing Street in March 2010 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of “Billy Elliot the Musical.” 

Tom Holland was again cast as the lead in the fifth-anniversary show, which took place on March 31, 2010. On May 29, 2010, his regular rotation as Billy, along with three other performers, came to an end.

Holland made his cinematic debut in 2011 when he voiced the main character Sho in the British adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s “Arrietty.” In September 2012, he made his feature film debut in “The Impossible,” which opened at the Toronto International Film Festival. 

He starred opposite Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in the picture, which was a critical and economic triumph, grossing $180.3 million worldwide. Holland earned many prizes for his performance, including the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance and the London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year, for which he received widespread acclaim.

He followed up this performance with a supporting part in “Locke” (2013) opposite Tom Hardy, as well as leading roles in “How I Live Now,” which was released in the United Kingdom on October 4, 2013, and “In the Heart of the Sea,” which was released on October 4, 2014. (2015).

Holland’s “life was flipped upside down” when he was unveiled as the new young Peter Parker/Spider-Man on June 23, 2015. He signed a six-picture agreement with Marvel Studios, making his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016.

Holland set a Guinness World Record as the youngest actor to portray a title character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his performance. Holland was paid roughly $500,000 for his role in the film, with a potential hefty bonus dependent on the film’s success, bringing his total compensation to at least $1.5 million.

Holland’s subsequent MCU films include “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018), “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019). In July 2021, his next MCU film will be released.
