Early Life

Edward Thomas Hardy was born in London on September 15, 1977, as an only child.
His father, author Edward Hardy, is a writer, and his mother, artist Anne Hardy, is an artist.
Reed’s School, Tower House School, and Duff Miller Sixth Form College were all places Tom attended. He eventually dropped out of college to attend the Richmond Drama School and the Drama Centre London to pursue acting.
Tom began abusing drugs and alcohol when he was a young adolescent.
Career
Hardy began his start in show business when he won The Big Breakfast’s “Find Me a Supermodel” competition in 1998 when he was 21 years old. After winning, he was signed to Models One for a short time until landing the supporting role of John Janovec in the BBC drama “Band of Brothers” (2001).
