If The Handmaid’s Tale returns to its fifth season later this year, it will do so without any of its stars, as Alexis Bledel has announced that she will leave the series.
Alexis Bledel, who plays central character Emily Malek in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, has announced that she will not return for Season 5.
Bledel, who has played the main character Emily / Ofglen in the Hulu drama since her debut season in 2017, said on Friday: “After much thought, I feel I have to leave.” This time ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such authentic and innovative scenes for Emily and Hulu, MGM, the actors, and the crew for their support.
During her four-year series, The Handmaid’s Tale, Bledel received four Emmy nominations and one victory in a television adaptation of Bruce Miller’s cult novel Margaret Atwood.
Alexis Bledel is best known for his role as Rory Gilmore in Gilmore Girls and has also appeared in ER and Mad Men. She has also starred in Sin City, Jenny’s Wedding, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Bledel found success and critical acclaim when cast in the role of Ofglen in The Handmaid’s Tale. This character is not even mentioned in the novels, and in the end, it comes to a terrible end. But this is not the case with television series, where the series is regularly promoted. During his four seasons, Bledel received four Emmy nominations and in 2018 received an exceptional guest in the lead role.
The creators have not yet announced the premiere date of the fifth series of several award-winning films.
