‘The Green Knight, starring Dev Patel, to miss its UK release date.


Actor Dev Patel-starrer fantasy epic ‘The Green Knight’ has been yanked out of its UK release window just two weeks before it was supposed to arrive in theatres. The action by A24 seems to have come amid rising COVID-19 instances across the country. According to sources, no new release date in the United Kingdom has been offered.

The film will hit the big screens in the USA on July 30

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on 19 July ‘Freiheit Day’ with a reopened United Kingdom and full-fledged movie theaters. He is currently isolated, though, because UK COVID numbers increase every day.

On 22 July, there were over 39,000 new cases recorded. More than 325,000 cases have been reported throughout the country.

The story ‘The Green Knight’ is driven by the Arthurian legend of a mysterious, green Knight by Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s ruler.

The film is directed by David Lowery. In the film, Dev Patel will be seen playing the role of Sir Gawain.

The Green Knight is played by Ralph Ineson, King Arthur is played by Sean Harris, and Esel is played by Alicia Vikander.
