Star Wars Eclipse Release: Multiple triple-A Star Wars films are currently in development in various studios across the world. From Ubisoft’s undisclosed Star Wars game to the impending remake of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, there’s a lot to look forward to in the Star Wars universe.
Star Wars Eclipse, on the other hand, was announced at The Game Awards 2021 with a hugely amazing cinematic teaser, making it a highly anticipated project for all Star Wars enthusiasts.
Despite the fact that Quantic Dream later stated that Star Wars Eclipse is still in the early stages of development, it appears that the game’s release date will be around 5 to 6 years from now, according to some unofficial information shared by well-known leaker Tom Henderson.
According to a video by Tom Henderson, the company is having engine troubles while producing Star Wars Eclipse, based on information gathered from a number of current and former Quantic Dream developers.
Henderson Claims Eclipse isn’t expected to hit theaters until 2026 or 2027.
As you may know, Quantic Dream has traditionally concentrated on single-player games with a strong narrative focus, with few sophisticated gameplay elements and players often getting to wander about, pick speech, and press buttons in high-octane situations.
As a result, it appears that Quantic Dream’s own engine is incapable of handling a massively multiplayer open-world game with several complex gameplay systems and mechanisms.
According to Tom Henderson, the reason for consenting to Tencent’s acquisition of Quantic Dream was to get additional resources to extend the studio’s hardware capabilities and, most likely, construct a completely new engine.
According to Henderson, a current Quantic Dream developer has hinted that the company may be entirely bought in the near future if it fails to gather the resources it needs to finish its existing Star Wars project, as well as some other unknown projects.
Overall, Henderson estimates that the game will take 5 years to build, implying that it will be released later in 2026 or earlier in 2027.
That being said, all of the above information is unofficial, and things may run more smoothly than the leaker claims. According to another insider who previously reported the release date of the game’s trailer, it’s still doubtful that Star Wars Eclipse would be released before 2025, except with enormous trimmed content.
