Early Life
Rod Wave, formerly known as Rodarius Marcell Green, was born on August 27, 1999, in St.Petersburg, Florida. He was raised by his mother. While studying in elementary school, his parents separated. Even after separation, his father looked after him. Rod’s dad was a street hustler, who got locked up in prison before Rod joined the middle school.
Following his father’s arrest Rod and his mother struggled mightily to make ends meet. Due to his weak financial status in the early days Rod got involved in criminal activities like stealing cars, selling drugs, and robbing houses. He was even arrested multiple times with charges stemming from armed robbery to carrying a concealed weapons.
However, Wave turned his career path and got out of criminal activities, after his father returned from prison. His father bought him a microphone along with the computer setups which Rod used to start recording music. He even continued his studies and graduated from Lakewood High School in 2017.
