Outer Banks will return for a third season, Netflix said on Tuesday.
Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, and others feature in Outer Banks. In a video made from their own homes, the actors helped celebrate the regeneration.
Stokes adds “All the way from Poguelandia, I’ve got incoming news, Season 3 baby! We’re coming back, season 3.”
Bailey adds “Back like we never left.”
Daviss and Pankow are even seen diving into a pool together to celebrate the good news.
Carlicia Grant, who plays Cleo, says “See you in Poguelandia, baby!”
The show is set on the Outer Banks islands off the coast of North Carolina and follows a group of four friends who discover a treasure map — and with it, a slew of frightening small-town mysteries.
When season 1 launched in April 2020, the program was an instant smash, and it maintained that momentum into season 2, which premiered in July 2021 on the streaming service.
On Tuesday night, the program was nominated for four trophies at the People’s Choice Awards, including Best Bingeworthy Show of 2021 (which it lost to another viral sensation, Squid Game). For his act as John B in the drama series, Stokes won the title for The Drama TV Star of 2021.
Stokes and Cline, who met on the set of Outer Banks and dated for a year during season 2 production, broke up in October after a year together. However, they were seen spending time together over the Thanksgiving holiday just a few weeks ago.
Despite the fact that they looked to be in high spirits as they danced at a pub and posed for selfies with fans, a source informed PEOPLE that they are not rekindling their romance.
“They’re simply buddies,” the insider explained.
Season 3 of Outer Banks has not yet had a premiere date set.
