The 79th annual Golden Globe Awards nominations have been announced. This year, applications were not necessary for award consideration for the first time in history, however the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) did accommodate filmmakers and companies who asked that their work be examined solely for specified categories.
Scenes from a Marriage, an HBO miniseries, received two well-deserved nods for its stars, who, over the course of five episodes, stripped themselves naked and poured their hearts out for all to see.
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television (Oscar Isaac)
- Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television (Jessica Chastain)
Love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce are all explored through the eyes of a contemporary American couple in Hagai Levi’s modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s classic Swedish miniseries.
Snoop Dogg and Helen Hoehne, president of the HFPA, revealed the nominations via livestream.
