National Award Receiving Actress Surekha Sikri Passes Away at Age 75


Surekha Sikri, a National Award-winning actress, has died. The actress died of heart arrest in Mumbai at the age of 75. According to sources, she had been sick for some time and suffered a paralytic stroke in 2018, followed by a cerebral stroke in 2020.

As per Indian Express, the actor’s manager confirmed the news in a statement, saying, “Three-time national award-winning actress, Surekha Sikri, passed away at the age of 75 suffering a cardiac attack earlier this morning.” She had been dealing with the aftereffects of a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her carers. At this time, the family requests privacy. Om Sai Ram,” he says.

Surekha Sikri’s acting career covered the stages of theatre, film, and television. Kissa Kursi Ka, her first film, was released in 1978. In her career, she won three National Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her roles in Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995), and Badhaai Ho (2001). (2018).
