James Thomas Fallon was born on September 19, 1974,Gloria and James Fallon in New York City.
Fallon attended a Catholic elementary school, St. Mary of the Snow at Saugerties. During his school years, he participated in several comedy contests and also won the contest of a young comedian with an impression of Pee-wee Herman. He graduated from Saugerties High School in 1992.
He then attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York State, where he was a computer science major, but then switched to communications during his last year. But he dropped out of college a semester early to pursue his career as a comedian.
Fourteen years later in May 2009 he returned to receive a Bachelor of Arts in communications, awarded by Saint Rose officials who granted him experiential learning credits for his television work.
Fallon dropped out of the college in 1995 to move to Los Angeles and pursue comedy full-time. He satrted his career by mіmісkіng сеlеbrіtіеѕ аnd реrfоrmіng ѕtаnd-uр tоurѕ асrоѕѕ thе Unіtеd Ѕtаtеѕ. He also joinedcalsses with an improv comedy troupe called Groundlings.

The couple has two daughters Winnie and Frances Cole born in 2013 and 2014 via surrogacy.
