Actress Julia Garner, known for her groundbreaking roles in “Ozark” and “Inventing Anna,” is offered the role of Madonna in a forthcoming biopic about a pop icon.
Several say they have more than a dozen serious candidates, including Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Alexa Demie (Euphoria) and Odessa Young (The Staircase), as well as singers Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira.
However, it was revealed that the role was offered to the star Ozarka and Inventing Anna Julia Garner, who is said to be ready to accept the offer soon.
The new biographical film will be directed by Madonna herself, who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl On The Train, Secretary) and Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body, Juno).
Madonna hopes that through the film, “she will express the unique path that life has taken as an artist, musician, dancer and human being. “The focus of this film has always been music. Music keeps me alive and art keeps me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who can tell it better than me. It’s important to share the roller coaster. Ride or my life with my voice and vision,” said the pop star at the announcement of the film.
