The creators of ‘Human’ debuted the fascinating teaser of the forthcoming medical thriller on Tuesday, giving a sneak peak into the dark realm of human medical experimentation.
With a thrilling narrative of murder, mystery, love, and manipulation, the suspense thriller ‘Human,’ based on the dark world of human drug trials in India, unravels unforeseen truths of the world of pharmaceuticals and their influence on people.
In a riveting story involving innocent lives lost to avarice, the fictitious series enunciates the collateral harm caused by fast-tracked drug studies for commercial benefit.
‘Human,’ a riveting narrative of power struggles, mysterious pasts, trauma, and murders, touches on compelling issues such as the worth of human life, medical negligence, class difference, and the implications of a fast-paced medical science.
The two-minute teaser depicts a pharmaceutical behemoth taking advantage of India’s loose clinical trial laws to expedite the development of a new medicine, despite potentially fatal side effects. Meanwhile, Dr Saira Sabharwal, 35, finds a dream post at Bhopal’s best hospital under the tutelage of the legendary 45-year-old Dr Gauri Nath. Saira matures under Gauri’s instruction, and the two women create a strong friendship through their dedication to the medical cause.
A surprising revelation, however, throws their lives into disarray as their narrative gets interwoven with that of a young migrant worker, Mangu (20 years), who is on his way to wreak havoc on the medical system.
The Disney+ Hotstar Specials series was written by Mozez Singh and Ishani Banerjee and directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh.
“Human dives into the nuances of human nature with a backdrop of the medical world,” added Vipul, who also acted as a producer on the series. It delves into the dark and twisted realm of unethical human testing in an intriguing yet realistic and harsh way. It depicts parts of the unknown medical realm that are fraught with suspense at every step.”
“Human is a series that deals with a really unusual view on life and death,” writer and director Mozez remarked of his experience working on the screenplay. It calls into question the worth of human life and the extent to which people will run away from their grief, remorse, and humiliation.
The ramifications of this can have far-reaching consequences in the lives of everyone involved, raising drama and conflict among all of them and allowing the story to be genuinely combustible, especially when class barriers are thrown into the mix.” “This was an intense assignment for me since it contains various themes that connected with me,” he continued.
On a personal level, I was always encouraged and determined to provide my best effort. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished.” The series has a superb ensemble led by National award-winning actor Shefali Shah and versatile actor Kirti Kulhari, as well as Vishal Jethwa, Ram Kapoor, Seema Biswas, Aditya Srivastava, and Mohan Agashe.
“Human as a series is highly relevant and realistic in today’s time,” Shefali, who plays Dr. Gauri Nath in the series, remarked. I couldn’t help but visualize our contemporary environment, a world of hospitals and vaccination trials, when I read the screenplay. It calls into question humanity and all that happens to preserve it.
Gauri Nath is a name you don’t often come across. It’s one of the most difficult roles I’ve ever portrayed, and it’s absolutely outside of my comfort zone. She is unexpected and difficult to understand. Humans are a Pandora’s box of emotions, behaviors, and outcomes.
And you’d have no idea what attacked you from its dark depths of intricacy.” “It’s the first time that I am portraying a doctor on TV, a world that I am not totally unfamiliar with as my sister and brother in law are physicians,” said Kriti, who portrays Dr Saira Sabarwal in the series.
Speaking with both of them and other physicians provided me with a wealth of information.” “Human is such a rich and nuanced plot that it drew me in right away.” Also, the idea that Shefali Shah would be on the same show as me piqued my interest.
I also met with a psychologist to explore some parts of my personality. “I essentially went into the mentality and world of physicians by talking to different people and studying different parts of how they function in the workplace and outside of it,” she continued.
The next medical thriller drama will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on January 14, 2022. It will be accessible on Hulu as well.
