Hiroyuki Sanada will star in Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4 alongside Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Rina Sawayama, and Shamier Anderson in an unspecified role. This summer, cameras are rolling on site in France, Germany, and Japan.
The actor, who was born in Japan, has appeared in over 55 films, including Netflix’s Army of the Dead and New Line’s Mortal Kombat. He is well renowned for his role in HBO’s Westworld as Musashi. Sanada will next be seen in Sony’s Bullet Train, in which he will star alongside Brad Pitt. Sanada is well known in Japan for his leading role in The Twilight Samurai. CAA, Lighthouse Entertainment, Axon Entertainment, and Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton are his agents.
On May 27, 2022, Chad Stahelski’s fourth sequel will hit theaters. The screenplay is by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Reeves and Louise Rosner executive produce the film, which is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski.
“I’m happy and privileged to welcome Hiroyuki Sanada to the John Wick family,” said Stahelski, who has long admired him as an actor and action performer.
The first three John Wick films have grossed a total of $584.7 million worldwide.
