Early Life

Channing Tatum Net Worth

Channing Tatum was born in Cullman, Alabama, on April 26, 1980, to Kay and Glenn Tatum (an airline worker and construction builder, respectively). He grew up in a remote area of Mississippi, along the Mississippi River, amid the bayous. Growing up, he was involved in athletics and struggled with schooling due to a diagnosis of ADD and Dyslexia.

Tatum was a football scholarship recipient at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, and Glenville State College in West Virginia. He eventually dropped college to return home and perform odd jobs. He began his career as a roofer before becoming a dancer at a local bar under the alias Chan Crawford.

In 2000, Tatum had his first taste of Hollywood when he was cast as a dancer in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” video, for which he was paid $400. He got signed with Page 305 Modeling Agency after being noticed by a model talent scout. He began modeling for major brands such as Gap, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Abercrombie & Fitch, before moving into national television commercials for Mountain Dew and Pepsi in 2002. Tatum began his modeling career with Ford Models in New York City and stayed with them until he decided to explore acting opportunities.

Channing’s first film role was in “She’s the Man,” with Amanda Bynes (2006). Later that year, Tatum earned his big break in the critically derided but box office smash “Step Up,” in which he co-starred with Jenna Dewan. Tatum starred in seven films between 2006 and 2009.

The actor debuted as a producer with “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints,” which he co-produced with Dito Montiel. Sean McArthur, a teenage hustler who makes a fortune by scalping tickets in New York City, was played by Tatum. Tatum told Details magazine in early 2012 that he intended to be a producer on all of the films he starred in the future because he wanted to be a part of the creative process from the beginning. He, his wife (Jenna Dewan), and his producing partner, Reid Carolin, inked a production contract with Relativity Media for any films that were being produced at the moment.

Tatum had a fantastic year in 2012. In Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire, he co-starred with Rachel McAdams in The Vow, and in 21 Jump Street, he co-starred with Jonah Hill. In addition, he starred as the titular character in the critically and commercially successful film Magic Mike, which pushed him into the spotlight. The narrative was partially based on Tatum’s eight-month experience working as a male stripper in Florida, directed by Steven Soderbergh and co-produced by Tatum. Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey also appeared in the film.

They worked with a low $7 million budget, and the picture ended up being a surprise box-office hit, grossing $167,221,571 worldwide. It received mostly favorable reviews and was included in numerous critics’ top ten lists for the year. Tatum appeared as a guest presenter on Saturday Night Live that year and was crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in November 2012.

Tatum reunited with Soderbergh in 2012 to act in “Side Effects,” with Rooney Mara and Jude Law. In 2013, he starred in White House Down, another action film. In the popular sequel, 22 Jump Street, Tatum reprised his main role from 21 Jump Street (2014.) Later that year, he co-starred in Foxcatcher alongside Steve Carell. The film was nominated for a number of significant accolades, including Oscars and a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture. He later returned to the character of Mike in the sequel to Magic Mike, Magic Mike XXL, which he also co-produced. He starred in the big sci-fi film “Jupiter Ascending” in 2015.

Tatum continues to perform as well as be heavily involved in the production of the film. 33andOut Productions and Iron Horse Entertainment are two additional production firms he founded. He has received over 20 accolades, including the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actor in 2016 and the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Leading Role in a Leading Role in a Leading Role

Personal Life

In 2006, Channing met Jenna Dewan on the set of Step Up. They married in Malibu on July 11, 2009. Everly, their daughter, was born in May 2013 in London (where the couple had been residing while filming Jupiter Ascending). Tatum and Dewan announced their split in April 2018 after nearly 9 years of marriage.

In November of 2006, their divorce was formalized. Jenna is thought to have received a divorce settlement in the $20-30 million range, including real estate and continuous spousal support, because they were married through some of Channing’s most lucrative years.

Tatum began dating singer Jessie J in 2018. In 2019, the couple had a brief breakup, however, they reconciled in early 2020.
