Early Life
Robert John Odenkirk was born in Berwyn, Illinois on October 22, 1962. His parents split due to his father’s drinking, and he grew up in Naperville with six siblings in a Catholic home. Bob knew that Naperville was a dead-end town as he grew older, and he couldn’t wait to relocate to a place with more interesting things to do.
Odenkirk was able to realize his ambition sooner than others, since he built up enough credits to graduate from high school at the age of sixteen. He subsequently went on to a variety of universities in Illinois, where he worked on their radio stations and honed his humorous wit.
For Southern Illinois University, he finally launched his own late-night comedy program.
