Actor Ana de Armas has replaced Scarlett Johansson in Dexter Fletcher’s upcoming directorial venture “Ghosted”. The Apple film will see de Armas reuniting with her “Knives Out” co-star Chris Evans. Reportedly Scarlett Johansson, Evans’ oft-collaborator in the Marvel movies, has amicably exited the picture due to a scheduling conflict.
The project is being described as a high concept romantic action adventure film. Evans is also producing the project along with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger. De Armas will serve as executive producer.
Reportedly, the shuffle happened because Ghosted is scheduled to go into production from February 2022 and the dates won’t work with Scarlett Johansson who is busy with other commitments. This led to the makers bringing Ana De Armas on board and replaced Scarlett Johansson.

De Armas, who has become one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood following her turn in “Knives Out”, “No Time to Die” and “Blonde”, will also been seen opposite Evans and Ryan Gosling in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed Netflix movie “The Gray Man”. She has also been in talks to play the lead in the “John Wick” spin-off “Ballerina”.
Fans of the two stars have already hopped on board the hype wagon and have expressed their excitement to see the two stars working together on what will be their third film together. After the success off their film ‘Knives Out’, Ana and Chris worked together in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed movie ‘The Gray Man’ that also stars Ryan Gosling.
Skydance is coming off the Chris Pratt-starrer The Tomorrow War, the Michael B. Jordan-starrer Without Remorse, and has set Victoria Mahoney to direct Old Guard 2. Fletcher directed Rocketman and completed Bohemian Rhapsody.
Apple has several buzzworthy awards season titles including CODA, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Swan Song and Finch, with other big films coming in the Martin Scorsese-directed Killers of the Flower Moon, the Will Smith-Antoine Fuqua film Emancipation, and the Ridley Scott-directed Kitbag with Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon Bonaparte and Jodie Comer as his wife Josephine.
