Bon Jovi was formed in 1983 in New Jersey with Alec John Such on bass guitar and played with the band for 11 years on big hits such as Livin ‘on a Prayer and You Give Love A Bad Name. The original member, known as “wild and full of life”, died yesterday at the age of 70, without giving details of his death. Rocker had a one-time guest appearance with Bon Jovi in 2001 and 2018, but left the band correctly in 1994. In 2000, Such said “Asbury Park Press how I was ten years older than other bands.” .
Bon Jovi praised Such for joining the band because he was a friend of childhood drummer Tico Torres and brought guitarist and songwriter Richie Sambor to see the band. This is how Sambora played in a band called Message.

Alec John Such, bassist and founder of the cult rock band Bon Jovi, has died. He is 70 years old. The band announced on Sunday the death of Such, a New Jersey bassist from 1983 to 1994. No details of when and how Such died will be immediately available. Journalist singer-songwriter Jon Bon Jovi did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
Such left the band in 1994, when he was replaced by bassist Hugh McDonald. He later joined the band at their inauguration at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
The cause of death is not reported yet. Unlike many of his contemporary metal hair bands, Bon Jovi has maintained a family-friendly image, helping the band gain fans in various parts of the world. Bon Jovi was one of the first Western rock bands to tour the Soviet Union when the communist system opened up as part of Mikhail Gorbachev’s glasnost reforms.
