A New Trailer for ‘Army of the Dead’ Teases Zack Snyder’s Triumphant Return to Zombie Horror
The official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead has been released on Netflix. The official trailer arrives just days after the director teased the film’s release with a bright new poster over the weekend. Prior to that, the only glimpse we’d have of the film was in the form of a shorter teaser released in February — but fans eager for Snyder’s return to the zombie verse now have much more to look forward to.
Kenny Rogers was really put in this thing by this madman. Yes, absolutely. Zack Snyder has been a divisive filmmaker in recent years, but I believe the sight of Dave Bautista sprinting across casino tables with a machine gun will bring us all together.
After Snyder’s truly great Dawn of the Dead reboot, it shouldn’t be surprising that this film looks like it’ll totally shatter the box office. Other than that, it seems to be having fun with the genre in ways other than the typical shambling, brainless zombies. “They aren’t who you think they are,” says the narrator “We find this from the trailer. The narrator adds; “They’re more intelligent. They’re quicker. They’ve got their act together.”
In addition to Bautista and Schweighöfer, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Tig Notaro, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Garret Dillahunt, as well as Ral Castillo, Huma Quereshi, Samantha Win, Richard Cetrone, and Michael Cassidy, make up Army of the Dead’s impressive ensemble cast.
“Army of the Dead” will premiere on Netflix and eventually hit select theatres on the same day, May 21.
